Person of the Week: Who Do They Think They Are?

Seriously, Who do they think they are? In case you don't know I have a issue with just a few people in the industry, just a few. Have I ever met these people? No. Do I want to? No. Was I ever a fan? Eh, well define fan. I consider myself a lover of fine music, fine hip-hop and r&b music, otherwise referred to as Black or Urban music. Whatever you call it I love it. So here's my problem, Nas said Hip-Hop is dead. He lied. He did it to scare you. Right now Hip-Hop has like cancer and is going under chemo to revive itself. R&B on the other had is suffering from arthritis. Here's the problem, you got people without talent going platinum or on the damn radio. Yes I know payola exist and there's not much we can do about it. But we don't have to add salt to the wounds by buying their crappy ass albums.

How do you go from hype-man to front man. Yes Flavor Flav was a hype-man but who happened to be the star of two shows one which had 3 seasons by itself, Flavor of Love, but he also happened to be a crack head. Remember that? So why are people treating Jim Jones like he is somebody. After reading his article in Complex magazine, I realized that he is deranged. He thinks his last album P.O.M.E. was worth the distribution and marketing cost wasted. I am glad that he does realize that he will not sell many albums, that is his only reality. Just because you're from Harlem does not mean "the whole Harlem got your back." He lacks flow, delivery and substance. I mean just how many birds are you going to flip and hoes are you going to fuck? Bitches are not on your dick because you have something to offer. I mean I never heard him spit a thought provoking verse. Have you? I doubt it. (And I've listened to early Dipset, Bird Gang, and present albums where Jimmy makes appearances). How can you come at Jay and Nas and when you can't even provide me with something introspective? I'm not asking you to put on sandals, eat some tofu and bust a verse. NO! I want something thats going to make me go OH SHIT, YOU HEARD THAT SHIT! I feel that all Jim Jones has to offer me is a voice, not like a voice of the people but literally his voice. His voice is really nice and that's because I'm a sucker for deep voices. I would like to say it's sexy, but I can't get past the persona, it's just so ignorant. More than anything I am a little bothered that people look up to him. Why? In his interview he bragged about carrying approximately 50 grand in his back pack. Are you a fucking mobster? Like you got a kid who does that? This ain't 1997 and if we've moved out of the hood why we still doing ignorant bullshit like this? What the fuck? Where does it end?
I guess it can't end because the demise of R&B is here today and its name is T-Pain. You should have to pass like a test to sing in public for money. I know plenty of men, women, dogs and frogs that would put T-Pain, the dred lock leprechaun to shame. First off you were a rapper then you ternt singer? I've never heard of such a thing. I've never heard of rapper actually taking themselves serious enough to believe that they could crossover and become
a crooner. I'm actually upset that someone allowed him to pass for talent simply because of auto-tune. Yes I know one of the best albums of 2008, 808s and Heartbreak was all auto-tune. But you know what Kanye can do whatever he wants. He's a firecracker and has earned his right to do some crazy shit. Besides it's Kanye he wrote a whole song saying You Can't Tell Me Nothin'. He meant it. Hell if it's that easy,  I can become a multi-million dollar recording artist. Besides I look way better than him. I guess my issue with T-Pain is that he has no talent at all and Milli Vanili lost their Grammys. Isn't that kind of the same situation, technically it's not his voice and should not be even nominated ever.

See the resemblance.

Where is the hope for the future? What do I
have to look forward? Will I be listening to music from the '90s until the day I die?
All I'm saying is one morning,  just one morning, I would like to wake up and not hear some ignorant shit on the radio; five songs in a row.
