He is the man on the moon, that Kid Cudi representing Cleveland. As of right now he's the hottest rapper who hasn't dropped an album yet. If you don't know who this guy is, break out 808s and Heartbreak and listen to Paranoid (the leaked version) and Welcome to Heartbreak to refresh your memory. He killed his verses. I would describe his style as smooth, lyrical chaos. It kind of reminds me a bit of Tribe Called Quest with Midwest flavor. His banging single "Day and Night" is friggin hypnotizing. He dropped a mixtape called "Man on the Moon," which is so sick. I don't know how Kanye does it. But every single person (except Rhymefest,) who he has put on a track from Lupe to GLC has done amazing things. I mean Kanye has revived the careers of Twista, Jamie Foxx and Common. Imagine what his stamp of approval is going to do for Kid Cudi. The Kid's flow is distinguishable yet intricate enough to be appreciated. He's also quite creative, he did a sick remix of a Phil Collins song, that is hilarious. His song Maui Wowie is hot to def. All I'm saying is give the Kid a chance. Besides his video is hot, and I haven't heard to many rappers kill it on dance mix, the Crookers Remix is sick. But there are like 5 remixes to the Day and Night track. The most popular with Jim Jones is so wack I won't even elaborate, he even made the video corny. Enjoy the Crookers Remix video because it's funny as hell.
I think Hip-Hop just might come out of the coma, but it looks like the Midwest might be the one to do just that.
UNFORTUNATELY!!!!
I had to remove the video. As a lover of all things beautiful. Kid Cudi stated on his blog that while he loved the video, he had some issues with the creators and was therefore not co-signing the videos. I'm tight because that is some good music. He also stated he would like if people not post the video on their site, so I took it down.
