Black people + chicken = Obama?

Apparently having a black president isn't enough for some people. You give a inch people take a mile. When did it become legal for someone to slap the president's name on something, especially like fried chicken. Two chicken spots, Royal Fried Chicken, in New York City decided to rename themselves 'Obama Does he even eat fried chicken? Probably. But why do people think they can profit off of his name, seriously. If we are done 'shuckin' and jivin' why do we allow things like this. To make matters worst, this happened in black neighborhoods, Brownsville, Brooklyn and Harlem. Now some say it's racist, I'm just going to say it's ignorant borderline racist. People are outraged and they should be. City Councilman Charles Barron plans to coordinate a protest of the Brooklyn location and possibly the Harlem location. The owners of the restaurants don't see the problem. They believe that with Obama's name people will want to eat there. It's a shame because most of the owners of these types of restaurants are of Middle Eastern decent, I thought there would be some type of sensitivity, but I guess the gap hasn't been bridged yet. I don't think people are offended because they eat chicken, just that the stereotype that black eat fried chicken just has a negative history surrounding it. To associate fried chicken with a prominent black man is like re-instating the minstrel show and all the walls that the civil rights leaders fought to break down. But in the mean time enjoy that fried chicken.
